Martin Stelling's 100-acre vineyard in western Oakville is the primary source for Far Niente's Cabernet Sauvignon. Fortunately, there's enough of this wonderful fruit that Nickel & Nickel can farm two acres for this single-vineyard bottling. Produced since 1997, the 2005 is a flashy, sexy wine with cocoa nib, vanilla and cigar box aromas to support the dense black fruit. There's a little more oak on this vintage to keep up with concentrated fruit, creating a layered, thick, luscious wine that's utterly seductive.
