Stellina di Notte, meaning "little night star," is a classic example of Pinot Grigio from the Delle Venezie Region of Italy. The 2006 Stellina di Notte Pinot Grigio features alluring aromas of melon, kiwi, and golden apple. Smooth and silky on the palate, it offers lush tropical fruit and citrus flavors, balanced by a pleasant minerality.
Wine maker notes
Shaped liked a giant boot, Italy has vineyards located all the way from the Alps at the northern cuff to Sicily, the southern island off the tip of the toe. We harvested all the Pinot Grigio from Veneto, at the cuff, for spicy fruitiness in the wine, and added some Chardonnay from Sicily, at the toe, for richness. Veneto is part of the Tre Venezie Typical Geographical Indication, which is bordered by Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. The warm air currents from the Adriatic Sea assure full ripening of the grapes, while the well-draining alluvial marl soils—composed of clay, limestone and rock—contribute character.

Food pairing
This Pinot Grigio makes the perfect aperitivo and pairs well with light, fresh salads and seafood.

Producer
Stellina di Notte®, “little night star,” produces enticing Italian wines–Pinot Grigio, Chianti and Prosecco. The Pinot Grigio comes from appellation Tre Venezie–referring to the three regions: Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino Alto Adige in northeast Italy, the most famous appellation for this spicy, minerally white grape. Sangiovese grapes for the Stellina di Notte Chianti are harvested from vineyards in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Romanticists will tell you that Italy’s beautiful, starry night skies are the perfect setting for sipping these delicious wines, hence the celestial name.
