Beautiful in color with a hint of green on the edge, this wine needs a few more months to reveal its potential and will age gracefully another few years. The nose is developed and shows a hint of mineral flavor associated with good ripeness and acidity and a lingering clean and dry finish. It is ready to drink now but has the potential to age another five years.
Wine Advocate 88 points - What Trimbachs refer to as their classic 2011 Riesling displays what are indeed classic scents and flavors for its genre of lime and apple, fusel oil, chalk and alkali. There are animation and juiciness notwithstanding the sense of caress engendered by vintage ripeness and analytically modest acidity. Glossy and polished in texture, this finishes with a succulent hint of sweet corn as well as a bitter nip of huckleberry joining the previously mentioned characteristics. Drinking delightfully in mid-2014, this ought to remain that way ? and a fine value ? through at least 2015. (Aug 2014)

Wine maker notes
The specific vineyard plots for Trimbach Riesling are selected each year by Pierre and Jean Trimbach. The grapes are normally harvested in late October and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats. There is no secondary malolactic fermentation in order to maintain as much natural acidity as possible.

Food pairing
Served best with marinated, grilled, or sauced fish, and sushi. Delicious with traditional Alsace dishes like onion tarte, sauerkraut, and pork.
