On the dry side and focused, exhibiting nectarine, spice and grapefruit peel flavors on a medium-bodied profile.
Wine Advocate 88 points - Rose petal, sweet pea tendrils, celery salt and bacon mingle in the nose of Trimbach?s 2011 Gewurztraminer, whose caressing softness from relatively low acidity does not by any means preclude admirable primary juiciness for a wine from this variety. Understated reprises of the elements anticipated on the nose lead to a satisfyingly sustained, alkali-tinged finish in this well-balanced bottling ideal for enjoying through 2015 (and drinking beautifully in mid-2014). The challenge with Gewurztraminer in this vintage, a Pierre Trimbach notes, is not to get too much weight, and he has certainly skirted that problem here at a modest 13.5% alcohol. (Aug 2014)

Wine maker notes
The juice ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats; no malolactic fermentation to maintain as much natural acidity as possible. Two years of cellar aging.

Technical notes
14% abv

Food pairing
Delicious with spicy foods, including Asian and fusion cuisines. Also an ideal wine to pair with strong cheeses.
